Warriors On Fire In Hockey East, NESN Game Saturday

Could the Warriors get back into the Hockey East playoffs? They are in position after tonight's 4-1 win against Umass Amherst at Lawler Arena. Currently they hold the last playoff spot in Hockey East, and are in line to play UNH in the playoffs. The Warriors already have a win against the Wildcats this year, so the playoff series could be quite interesting. Couple that with the fact that UNH always chokes, and this could REALLY be fun.

More info on Mack's weekend series, this taken from Hockey East Online: " Joe Cucci (Melrose Park, IL) netted his first collegiate hat trick, as Merrimack improved to a nation's best 11-2 at home with a 4-1 win over #18 Massachusetts Friday night in front of 2,281 fans at Lawler Arena.

Merrimack (12-15-1, 9-11-1 HEA) and the Minutemen (16-14-0, 11-12-0 HEA) conclude their season-series Saturday night at the Mullins Center at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised live by NESN.

The win, coupled with a Vermont loss, moves Merrimack into eighth place in the Hockey East standings, one point behind Lowell for seventh place.

The Warriors are unbeaten (3-0-1) in their last four, their longest Hockey East streak since 1999-00. The win is Merrimack's ninth in Hockey East, its most since 1996-97. "

BU Wins 2nd Leg Of Home and Home Vs Merrimack

Boston University knocked off Merrimack 6-4 last night. Props to the Warriors, as they trailed 4-0 after 1, and cut it to 5-4 midway through the 3rd. BU and the Mack split their home and home, both winning at their own barn. BU outshot the Mack 34-29, but in the past that would have looked like 39-9 in favor of the Terriers.

Merrimack falls to 3-2 in Hockey East play, good enough for 6th in the league. UMASS Amherst still leads the way at 4-2 in the league. For more Merrimack information, check out an interview with Captain Chris Barton from earlier this week.

We Hate BC Tonight And Sunday!

Their cheerleaders aren't even that hot. They are okay. I mean, I wouldn't say no.

Usually we like BC, not tonight as they take on our TEAM!! Merrimack is on fire right now. After big wins against Holy Cross, Army, UConn and Vermont, the Warriors now dip into their challenging portion of the schedule. Boston College and Merrimack will start a home and home tonight in Chestnut Hill, they wrap up the series Sunday in North Andover.

Now, I am going to go out on a ledge here and say Merrimack will take one of these games. That would be huge. They need to nut-up against #12 BC, and get at least one win. Next week it stays challenging with an H and H with BU - thus these Eagles game are that much more important.

Tonight in Boston will be great. It doesn't get better as a Merrimack fan to go into Chestnut Hill and watch the Warriors destroy the Eagles in front of 1,200 screaming fans. This game will be poorly attended (as usual for Warriors games!) so we don't need to worry about lunatic fans acting as that 'extra man' on the ice.

Another prediction - although I have utmost confidence in the Warriors winning, they will be outshot in this series 81-25. Haha. Watch for it!

Wish We Had A Shortstop

Jimmy Rollins hits a remarkable 2-out 2-run walkoff double against the Dodgers, Phils 5-4 winners. Phils lead 3-1. On their way to the Series. Wish we had a shortstop like that. Wish Broxton could have closed the door. Who wants a five game NLCS?

Wish we had a catcher like this. Jeff Mathis slams an rbi walkoff double to sink the Yanks, 5-4 in 11 innings. Thank God, because after Mo got out of a bases loaded jam with no outs, I thought the series was over. Still pissed about Arod and Jeter hitting homers tonight. Am I being too negative? Should be more positive after a 59-0 win over the Oilers/Titans and a Merrimack hockey player being named Hockey East Player of the Week. Jeez!

Go Merrimack!

Gotta love the alma mater getting some recognition on Youtube. See, this is what separates Merrimack from the other Hockey East schools: Our chicks are tougher than the hockey team. Seriously, the Warriors couldn't beat Reading High but if they had these two girls on the team they would destroy everybody on their way to 7th place in Hockey East. Somebody get these bitches some skates.
