Peter Chiarelli said today on XM Radio's NHL Network that Marc Savard is likely done for the season. The center has been diagnosed with a grade 2 concussion. An announcement on Matt Cooke's suspension is expected within the next day or so. Currently the NHL is holding it's GM meetings in Florida. The head's of each team and the of the league are apparently discussing rules to implement for next season to prevent hits like this from occurring again.
"It should have been cracked down on a little while ago, I think, because you never want to see anybody hurt from anything like that," said Johnny Boychuk.
Savard met with a concussion specialist at Massachusetts General Hospital upon arriving in Boston. The rest of the Bruins are in Toronto for tonight's game against the Maple Leafs. Zdeno Chara is out of the lineup with a lower body injury.
