Pushing For The Playoffs, Continued


Merrimack defeated Providence 5-0 tonight at Alumni Hall in Rhode Island. The Warriors entered the game holding on for the eight and final spot for the Hockey East playoffs but finished the night in 5th. The Warriors haven't clinched a playoff spot just yet; Umass beat Maine 5-3 tonight at Alfond Arena which keeps the Minutemen alive. Here is how the rest of the league is shaping up:

Sometimes I wonder why these teams can't compete in the Beanpot too. It would be much more interesting.

Agreed there. Let's have the same four teams every year, and the same finals matchup every year. Then, whoever wins gets to celebrate like they won the national title.

Unfortunately Lowell won so the Mack has no chance at home ice. According to USCHO, Lowell holds the tiebreaker over Merrimack. A first round matchup with "the other Umass" would be great though in my opinion. I might actually be able to attend the game.
