Patriots And Bodden Reach Agreement

The Patriots have reached an agreement with CB Leigh Bodden while he was in Houston visiting the Texans. Alvin Keels, Bodden's agent, states that a contract has not been signed at this point.

Bodden played 15 games last season and had 17 passes defended. He also tied for the team lead with five interceptions. The Patriots need to get this contract signed. They cannot afford to let Bodden sign with the Texans or any other time. He is a good player, not great, but is much needed for a team that has a poor secondary. The Patriots aren't going to be able to fill all of their holes through the NFL Draft or free agency. They need to lock up their own players that are familiar with the system and can contribute to next year's team. Leigh Bodden is that guy.

UPDATE: Bodden has signed a four-year deal worth $22 million.
