Merrimack Warriors Back In Hockey East Playoffs

Merrimack sports are back on the map! For the first time since 2004, the Warriors are going back to the Hockey East playoffs. Following a 1-1 tie against Providence, in a weekend set that saw Merrimack take 3 out of 4 possible points, the Warriors found themselves in the 6th seed in the Hockey East playoffs. The Mack destroyed PC all night, outshooting the Friars 38-23, but they were unable to muster a win. Even if they had found a way to earn a W, they would still be in the 6th seed. Merrimack, 12-13-2 in Hockey East this season, will take their game to Agganis Arena to take on the defending national champion Terriers of Boston University.

The Warriors finished only two points back of the 3rd seed Terriers, and now have a huge challenge awaiting them on Comm Ave. BU beat Merrimack in the season series 2-1, however the Warriors have put together quite a second half run. Only a few weeks ago the Warriors found themselves in the #9 spot in Hockey East, now they have battled to a respectable 6th place finish.

We will break down the upcoming series between Merrimack and Boston University early next week, it is bound to be a great one. Warrior fans should do their best to get to Agganis to route on their squad. Not often does a Merrimack team with this kind of talent find their way into a 6th seed. Let's go Mack!
