The Denver Post reports that the Washington Redskins are already negotiating with Mike Shanahan to take over the head coaching position. Unfortunately for Jim Zorn, he is the current Redskins head coach and technically, still holds that position. Imagine if your Zorn, flipping through the channels, and seeing at the bottom of the ESPN ticker that your employer is already negotiating with someone over taking your job. Only in sports could this happen. This is like sitting in your cubicle and getting a staff email letting your fellow staff members know they are starting interviews for your position next week.
We all remember that earlier this year they took playcalling duties and gave it to someone who was managing the bingo game at his local senior center. Further rubbing salt in the wound for Zorn is the fact that the Redskins offense has actually improved since they have done this.
I hope the guaranteed money in the contract that Zorn is holding out for is worth his complete loss of dignity.
